Tickled Moon began with precious memories of bedtime stories – and an idea of just how magical a personalised book could be…
As parents of two boys, our most cherished times were bedtime snuggles with a brilliant story. We loved books with rhythm, heart, and humour – ones we’d read again and again – some of which we’d both been brought up on too. Tickled Moon was born from that joy of sharing a precious moment together, and we set out to create stories full of warmth and wit, with the magical bonus of personalisation.
We’re Alison Reddihough and Simon Roberts – partners in both life and creativity. We live in a converted dairy in Sussex, England, with our extremely cool cat, Merlin – our two grown sons having now headed off to university.
Our backgrounds are steeped in storytelling. We started out as actors, then moved into filmmaking and produced two award-winning short films – one of which, “Ghosthunter”, was shortlisted for an Oscar and became the focus of the book “How to Make Great Short Films”.
Now we pour that same creative energy into every Tickled Moon book – crafting each one with warmth, wit and originality. Since launching in 2019, our books have been featured on ITV’s This Morning, BBC Radio, and named a Best Buy on an IndyBest list, with lovely mentions and glowing reviews in magazines and newspapers across the UK.
It’s been a steep (but joy-filled) learning curve, and we’re incredibly proud of the journey so far. At the heart of it all is something simple: we’re a small family business, and we care deeply about each and every customer. Whether it’s a special birthday gift, or to show you care, we know how much these personalised books mean – and we do everything we can to make sure they’re just right for you.
Tickled Moon is still growing, with many more playful, poetic and heartfelt personalised stories on the way. Thanks for joining us on the adventure – we can’t wait to share what’s next.

ILLUSTRATOR – JODIE WONFORD
Illustrating children’s books is Jodie’s true passion – it makes her heart sing. Since graduating from Kingston University in 2018, she’s devoted herself to storytelling through pictures, and loves every step of the process: dreaming up new characters, mapping out each page, and layering in colour and emotion to make the story soar.
We love having her as part of the Tickled Moon family – Jodie’s natural talent, rich colours, and the warmth and heart in every brushstroke has felt like the perfect match for our stories. She has illustrated all of our books to date (and our lovely print too!), bringing each one to life with care, charm and joy.
